Video Editing - group Videos

Video Guidelines

Theme : <enter theme here >…. In a Saree

Your video (20-30sec) - < Add desc here for guidelines on recordings per theme>

I will use mostly 20sec from your recording, and also trim/split it as needed. [Optional]

Deadline for submission :
I will provide you with the final video for review by :
Deadline to review your video & provide feedback :
No response from you - I assume you loved what I did with your video!

1. Recording Clips needed
· As per the song selection, timings as provided from the audio file
· Still Pictures - One picture of full sari/ one close-up with your name on it (clearly visible)

2. Please look for a good lighting area in house where you want to take the video. Generally, opposite the window or light should be on your face, use a lamp, selfie light/ring light if needed, Light should not be behind you.

3. Less clutter in background, some aesthetic painting or art is desirable based on theme of the video.

4. Outdoors is better but be careful of the wind effect on your saree !! It may look good to you, but camera generally captures it weirdly and we need an expert cameraman to capture the perfect flow of saree with the wind effect

5. Select your saree, blouse and accessories and prop that you will be using before, you don’t want to irritate your cameraman and have the rush factor - video captures it all .. your face and the cameraman’s behavior as well

6. Think through the selected music audio and the steps you want to do based on theme – for funny – you can add some drama, for serious expressions of face count. Try to make it unique – look for some other videos on YouTube for inspiration.

7. Identify your cameraman and prep them before the D day and may be practice once with them in regular clothes or a couple of times to get your best angle and shot, if no one is around to take your video, just use a selfie stand tripod, or find a table/island where you can place the camera at an angle and use timer function – this will take a few takes.. be patient. you will get there, I always take mine with my camera myself.

8. Moving camera is better and desirable with zoom in and zoom out effects on your saree, blouse, jewelry or face if possible .. if not possible you can take the video from a tripod too with Timer and I can add those effects later as needed.

9. Do not use filters unless asked, take high resolution video. Add effects if you know how to and want your video to be like that, in that case I might not add any extra filters/effects on it unless

. Use the phone camera in vertical mode please.

   Important to remember :

11. Practice before so when the final time comes for the take - you are not frustrated and make the cameraman unhappy too.. we all know how easily they get tiered of taking our pics / videos and then the output is not as per what we expected.

12. Take multiple videos with diff backgrounds and diff zoom levels with diff actions depicting the drama - but choose the one you want me to use, you can send clips and I can select from them if you provide your preference when sending to me so I can pick and choose clips which work best !! Sometimes for effect we change the speed of the video so the effective time is less .. send more ..

13. Less repeated actions please!! Smile is mandatory… unless it goes against the theme 😊

14. NO KIDS faces in the pic / video

Sharing of video is only allowed on Sareespeak FB and Insta with #sareespeak
Unless everyone in the video is OK with sharing we cannot share the entire video, you can cut your part and share on other social platforms.

Good luck girls .. enjoy the process and let me know if you need any other tips / pointers / help! I can FaceTime individually during the evening if needed just direct message me

Send it to me in WhatsApp. If you can do it before the deadline, I will really appreciate it, late entries have an impact and if you want to drop out please let me know before so that I can plan accordingly!

I am open to all suggestions from you all.. feel free to direct message me anything. I will respond when I can at my earliest! Good luck

Lots of love - Pallavi
