From the trunk of my 2006 memories…
A Bandhani chiffon saree, a Ganpati celebration at Avani’s, and a version of me from almost two decades ago.

Some sarees don’t just sit in your closet — they quietly hold chapters of your life. The people, the laughter, the celebrations… even the woman you were when you first wore them.
Looking at this picture today, I realize the saree hasn’t aged much… but the girl wearing it definitely collected a LOT of stories along the way!
2006 → 2026.
Same love for sarees.
Same love for celebrations.
Just a few more wrinkles, stories, and reasons to smile.
I was a huge fan of half-and-half sarees back then
— so much so that half my closet was practically filled with them!
This was one of my most impulsive online purchases after moving to Chicago. I was missing India… and more importantly, I was missing the joy of walking into a store and buying a saree just because I had to have it.

Almost 20 years later, this saree still carries a little piece of that girl who had just arrived in Chicago, was finding her way, and was determined to keep a little bit of home with her.
